Inspection basis for Engineering Plastic Stock & Parts
Identify the ordered construction: UHMWPE sheet, HDPE rod and polyimide components; stock dimensions or drawing.
Keep its drawing revision and material identification with the acceptance record. Specify the dimensions to inspect and the required test method and conditions; a report for another grade or construction does not establish acceptance for this item.
Request technical documents ↗Separate stock material from finished machined parts
For stock shapes, identify the polymer, grade, sheet or rod dimensions and quantity. For machined components, send the finished drawing and distinguish it from the starting stock size. Color alone does not identify a polymer or filler.
PEEK, HDPE and other engineering plastics have different material data and processing requirements. Compare the selected grade against temperature, media, load and fit; do not use the broad category name as an equivalent material designation.
Define the inspection dimensions before machining
Mark the drawing revision, units, critical fits and surface requirements. State whether dimensions are to be inspected under specified conditioning or measurement conditions so the acceptance basis is clear.
For repeat work, retain the approved grade, drawing and inspection plan. A sample can aid discussion, but worn or distorted parts should not silently become the dimensional master.

Purchasing questions
How do I specify engineering plastic stock & parts for a quote?
Send polymer grade; stock dimensions or drawing; tolerance; application; quantity. Attach the drawing or existing part designation when available. Any unresolved field is identified before the order is confirmed.
Can I order different sizes or a custom version?
List each size and quantity separately. Drawing-based changes are reviewed for material, geometry, tolerances and any tooling needed; availability and minimum quantity depend on the individual item.
What are the minimum order, sample cost and lead time?
Quoted by item, size and quantity. List each required size separately. Confirmed after specification and quantity review; include your required date. Samples and any preparation charges are confirmed with the quotation.
Which documents can accompany the order?
Specify the material, dimensional inspection, traceability and third-party documents required by your project. Availability and scope are confirmed for the selected product rather than assumed from a general certification logo.
Request a quote for engineering plastic stock & parts
Send your drawing or part designation with the material, dimensions, quantity and destination.
