Equipment & stuffing-box fit
Identify pump, reciprocating or valve-stem service, then state packing section and shaft or stem diameter. Add fluid, solids, operating conditions and any flush arrangement. Reinforcement and lubricant should match the equipment specification.
Construction & material options
Flexible graphite; wire-reinforced; jacketed and treated grades.
Specifications
| Specification | Details | Ordering note |
|---|---|---|
| Construction | Braided flexible graphite; reinforcement specified separately | P400 plain braid is distinct from wire-reinforced packing. |
| Square section | 3 × 3 mm to 25 × 25 mm for KXT P400 catalog braid | Confirm fit to the stuffing box. |
| Supply form | 5 kg / 10 kg spools; formed rings by specification | State required length, weight or ring-set dimensions. |
| Duty data | Pump/valve application and selected-grade data | Pressure and speed values depend on equipment duty. |
| Manufacturing source | Kaxite-owned factory | Production scope confirmed by Kaxite; order-specific processes and inspection requirements must be agreed. |
Measure the stuffing box before choosing the packing
A packing order needs the shaft or stem diameter, stuffing-box bore and usable depth. State whether the equipment rotates, reciprocates or operates as a valve stem, and identify the fluid and operating conditions for the material review.
Distinguish flexible graphite packing from graphite-PTFE and carbon-fiber constructions. Reinforcement and treatment can change the intended product; do not identify the packing only from its dark appearance.
Ring preparation and maintenance information to request
Ask whether supply is a continuous coil, cut lengths or a preformed ring set. For rings, give the required dimensions and set arrangement. Provide the equipment instructions when a specific cutting or installation method is mandatory.
Inspect the shaft or stem and stuffing box under the equipment maintenance procedure. Commission and adjust the gland to the equipment’s approved instructions; one leakage or adjustment rule does not apply to every pump and valve.

Drawings, inspection & documents
Send the drawing revision and identify the dimensions or properties that need inspection. Request product-specific data sheets, material records and any required testing documents with the RFQ. The quotation should identify which records accompany the selected item.
Request technical documents ↗Material, construction and ordering options
Identify the required construction on each order line. State the selected option with its material grade, profile or drawing specification.
| Material / construction option | Include in your purchasing description |
|---|---|
| Graphite Packing | Material or construction designation, dimensions, quantity and the relevant drawing or standard. |
| Jacketed Graphite Packing | Material or construction designation, dimensions, quantity and the relevant drawing or standard. |
Purchasing questions
How do I specify graphite packing for a quote?
Send pump or valve; section size; shaft or stem diameter; media; speed; temperature; pressure. Attach the drawing or existing part designation when available. Any unresolved field is identified before the order is confirmed.
Can I order different sizes or a custom version?
List each size and quantity separately. Drawing-based changes are reviewed for material, geometry, tolerances and any tooling needed; availability and minimum quantity depend on the individual item.
What are the minimum order, sample cost and lead time?
Quoted by item, size and quantity. List each required size separately. Confirmed after specification and quantity review; include your required date. Samples and any preparation charges are confirmed with the quotation.
Which documents can accompany the order?
Specify the material, dimensional inspection, traceability and third-party documents required by your project. Availability and scope are confirmed for the selected product rather than assumed from a general certification logo.
