Flange & equipment fit
Send the flange standard or complete equipment drawing. For exchanger gaskets, include pass partitions, bolt holes and the seating dimensions. The sealing element, centering rings and mating groove each need the correct geometry.
Select material grade and gasket geometry together
PTFE identifies a material family, not a complete gasket specification. State whether the order requires virgin PTFE, a specified filled grade or another approved formulation. Expanded PTFE is a separate construction and should not be substituted simply because both materials are white.
For cut parts, provide thickness, complete profile, holes and any internal partitions. For drawing-based parts, identify the dimensions that control fit as well as the quantity of each size.
Installation conditions that affect a PTFE gasket
Confirm the flange facing, surface condition and available assembly procedure before selecting a gasket thickness. Material deformation under load is part of the joint assessment; a thicker gasket is not automatically a better replacement.
Use the approved installation instructions for the particular equipment. If the application has special cleanliness or compliance requirements, specify the required grade and documents before ordering instead of inferring them from material color.
